ITEM 2: WPTV reported, "Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Wednesday that Florida will allocate resources to provide help to the states of Arizona and Texas in their efforts to secure the southern border.
"During a news conference at the Escambia County Sheriff's Office in Pensacola, DeSantis said Florida is the first state to provide mutual aid to Arizona and Texas, whose Republican governors sent a letter seeking help after President Joe Biden rolled back the immigration policies of former President Donald Trump.
"Standing in front of a podium with a sign affixed to it that read, 'Secure our border, secure our states,' DeSantis was joined by Attorney General Ashley Moody and sheriffs throughout Florida."
He's looking more presidential than the guy in the Oval Office.

ITEM 3: Breitbart reported, "President Joe Biden gave Russian President Vladimir Putin almost everything he could have wanted at their Geneva summit. He elevated Putin above other leaders, including American allies; and failed to force any real concessions on Russian policy.
"The degree to which the summit was a disaster became evident when Putin emerged for his press conference — alone with a forum all to himself.
"The Biden team did not want to appear with Putin at a joint conference after the meeting– both because Biden would look frail next to Putin, and because of the media dogma that President Donald Trump had somehow done something terrible by behaving cordially when appearing alongside Putin in Helsinki, Finland, in 2018.
"Putin fielded softball questions from Russian news agencies, but he also welcomed hostile questions from the U.S. media. (In fact, Putin, an enemy of press freedom, was more polite than Biden would be, and took far tougher questions.)
"The opportunity to defend his own position, and to attack the United States, without fear of contradiction was a massive gift to the Russian president. He used the old Soviet tactic of pointing to American problems as a way of deflecting from questions about human rights and political opposition."
Putin rolled Biden like the town drunk at midnight.

"Ahead of the launch of his company Blue Origin’s rocket, the New Shepard, which will take the world’s richest man and his brother into suborbital space in July, a petition has begun circulating calling for them to be denied ‘re-entry into Earth.’
"The tongue-in-check petition, which is addressed to Blue Origin, claims the world’s richest man ‘is actually Lex Luthor, disguised as the supposed owner of a super successful online retail store. However, he’s actually an evil overlord hellbent on global domination.’
"The creator of the petition goes on to suggest that Bezos’s upcoming spaceflight is the perfect chance to rid the world of the supposed ‘evil overlord,’ and urges the powers that be to stop him from returning to Earth, writing ‘this may be our last chance before they enable the 5G microchips and perform a mass takeover.’"

ITEM 5: The Daily Caller reported, "House Republicans requested information Wednesday regarding the Department of Education’s plans to investigate potential undisclosed contracts between American universities and the Chinese government.
"Republican Reps. Jim Banks and Virginia Foxx sent a letter Wednesday to Education Secretary Miguel Cardona asking how the department plans to enforce Section 117 of the Higher Education Act (HEA), which requires universities to disclose gifts, grants, and contracts from foreign countries to the federal government. The Republicans argued that universities are not complying with this requirement, allowing possible connections to China to go undiscovered."

ITEM 6: CNBC reported, "An extreme heat wave gripping the western United States will intensify and spread this week, creating dangerous conditions amid the worst drought in the last two decades and raising concerns about severe wildfires and electrical grid failures.
"More than 40 million people in the country are forecast to experience triple-digit temperatures this week, and roughly 200 million people are projected to see temperatures over 90 degrees Fahrenheit. More than three-fourths of the West is in severe drought, according to the U.S. Drought Monitor.
"Temperatures in some areas could surpass 120 degrees, and excessive-heat warnings are in place for several states. Nevada and Arizona are forecast to see record temperatures of 125 and 128 degrees, respectively."
West Virginia is having a spring-like June.

ITEM 7: The Daily Caller reported, "Gov. Greg Abbott signed a law Tuesday banning the government from closing places of worship in Texas.
"Texas’s HB1239 prohibits 'any elected or appointed officer, employee, or agent of the state' from closing a 'building or grounds where religious activities are conducted.' The newly signed law follows an executive order Abbott issued last year that shut down Texas, including houses of worship.
"Abbott later reversed his order and allowed houses of worship to open in April 2020, deeming them essential."

His bill states simply, "Notwithstanding any other provision of law, the President shall take such actions as may be necessary to prohibit the purchase of public or private real estate located in the United States by members of the Chinese Communist Party."

ITEM 10: Vice reported, "China has sent three astronauts to work on its future space station in its first crewed space mission in nearly five years, a key step in the country’s expanding space program.
"The spacecraft Shenzhen-12 blasted off via a Long March 2F rocket from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in the Gobi Desert at 9:22 a.m. on Thursday.
"The three men on board, Nie Haisheng, 56, Liu Boming, 54, and Tang Hongbo, 45, are expected to spend three months in space, the longest crewed mission since China sent its first astronaut to space in 2003. Nie and Liu have been to space in the past, while Tang is on his first orbital trip.
"The mission is the first of four crewed space missions scheduled before China completes constructing its space station in 2022, Ji Qiming, assistant director at the China Manned Space Agency, said at a press briefing on Wednesday."

ITEM 11: The New York Post reported, "Hawaii prosecutors charged three police officers in connection with the deadly shooting of a teenager, a week after a grand jury declined to indict the cops for the April death of 16-year-old Iremamber Sykap.
"Geoffrey HL Thom was charged with second degree murder for the shooting as Zackary K Ah Nee and Christopher Fredeluces each face charges of attempted murder in the second degree.
"Thom fired 10 rounds into the rear of a stolen car Sykap was driving during a Honolulu police chase 'without provocation,' prosecutors said. The car was allegedly linked to an armed robbery and burglary spree."
Without provocation? What more provocation can there be than a suspect driving away in a stolen vehicle?
The prosecutor's pursuit of injustice is unconstitutional because a grand jury said the prosecutor had no case.
The officers should sue the prosecutor for violating their civil rights.
And every cop in Hawaii should seriously consider leaving because the prosecutor does not have their back.
ITEM 12: Politico reported, "The Congressional Black Caucus backed Rep. Ilhan Omar on Wednesday, more than a week after the Minnesota Democrat tweeted incendiary comments that Democrats and Republicans have said equated the U.S. and Israel with Hamas and the Taliban."
Omar is an anti-Semitic carbuncle on Congress.
That the black caucus supports her is no surprise. A caucus based on the color of one's skin is inherently racist, and racists are always anti-Semitic.

ITEM 13: CBS reported, "A sudden power failure left more than 330,000 clients in the dark across Puerto Rico late Wednesday, enraging many who were recovering from a massive outage that hit the U.S. territory just days ago.
"Luma Energy, a private company that took over the island’s power transmission and distribution system on June 1, said three units were knocked offline for reasons not immediately known. At first, the company said some 190,000 clients had been affected, but it later tweeted that power had been restored to more than 180,000 clients and that another 156,700 were still without electricity.
"Various spokeswomen did not return calls for comment.
"The latest outage unleashed a flood of complaints on social media as anger spread among thousands of people who were forced to throw out food and refrigerated medication including insulin in recent days. Some also complained about damaged appliances as lights flickered on and off since Thursday’s outage that left 900,000 people in the dark."
With Donald Trump no longer president, whom will the media blame?
ITEM 14: The New York Post reported, "Two convicted murderers on death row in South Carolina got a new lease on life Wednesday when the state’s high court ruled their upcoming executions would be illegal until firing squads are available — an antiquated practice that was legalized last month.
"The South Carolina Supreme Court halted the deaths after lawyers for the inmates argued their planned death by electrocution is cruel and unusual under the state’s revised capital punishment law, which allows prisoners to choose to be killed by a firing squad if lethal drugs aren’t available.
"The state has not yet assembled a firing squad and prison officials have long been unable to secure drugs for a lethal injection, leaving a 109-year-old electric chair as the only method of execution."
They should have had the firing squads in place before they changed the law.
Do not feel sorry for the condemned men. The story said, "Brad Sigmon, 63, was scheduled to be put to death on Friday after being convicted of murdering his ex-girlfriend’s parents with a baseball bat in 2001, according to The Greenville News.
"Freddie Owens, 43, was scheduled to be executed on June 25 in connection with the murder of a convenience store clerk in 1997, the paper said."
Maybe a couple of softball players can take care of Sigmon.
ITEM 15: Jonathan Turley reported, "Viterbo University in La Crosse, Wisconsin, has been the scene of protests for months over alleged hate crimes committed on campus. The police however has charged a student, Victoria Unanka, with what it says was a hoax hate crime involving the setting of a fire in her dormitory. What interested me about the case was the curious combination of criminal charges. She is being charged with both arson and 'the negligent handling of burning materials.'
"The arson occurred during protests over alleged racial incidents on campus. A student complained about racial slurs directed against her. The university cancelled classes and campus-wide demonstrations were held. One of those who reportedly spoke at the demonstrations was Unanka.
"The LaCrosse Police Department report states that Unanka 'admitted to intentionally setting the fire in the second level lounge for attention purposes.' According to media reports, President Glena Temple has later announced that the responsible student would be expelled."
We shall see if the race hoaxer is actually expelled or prosecuted. Given the systemic racism in this country in favor of one race, I doubt it.
ITEM 16: The Washington Gazette reported, "Last July, in a neighborhood north of Dallas, a fugitive took cover in a suburban house that was put up for sale before the events took place. After a lengthy standoff, a SWAT team attacked the residence, throwing tear gas grenades through the windows, blowing up doors, and leveling a fence with an armored vehicle that they proceeded to then drive through her front entrance. When the smoke cleared, it may have seemed as if the homeowner's nightmare had just ended, but, in reality, it had only just begun.
"Vicki Baker, the 76-year-old homeowner, had spent a year prepping it for sale. And her labor appeared to pay off as It was under contract and scheduled to close just days after the assault took place. However, due to the extensive damage left by the SWAT team, the customer justifiably walked away. After all, the house was in tatters, and both the city and Vicki's insurance company refused to cover the majority of the expenses to repair it. In effect, the city basically told her, tough luck."
The city should pay under the you-break-it, you-bought-it rule of antique shops.

Mother Jones tweeted, "A married couple can now leave a total of $23.4 million to the kids without paying a dime in federal estate or capital gains taxes. That’s the highest exemption level in decades."
The responses included, "Should be more."
And, "Was that $23.4 million already taxed once? Would you also like to start taxing my kids allowance each week ($10 each)? How about the birthday money their grandmothers give them (that's a whole $20 from each)?"
And, "Good. Estates are made up of income (already taxed), property (already taxed), and other tangible stuff (already taxed at point of purchase). The greed is in wanting to tax that further and not in wanting to leave that to your families tax free."
And, "Why should adults inherit something without having earned it? Least they should do is pay tax on that income."
Which was answered with, "Because their parents already paid the tax. What entitles the government the right to take by force from the same earnings twice and waste unconstitutionally it on things we never agreed to?"
And, "Good. Taxation is theft. They should be able to leave every penny they want to their children."
And, "Why do you consider it greed for a company to make 4% profit, but fine for the government to steal 40% plus of someone’s money?"
And, "In a free country people can do what they wish with their wealth."
